This page demonstrates what I want to do with tabs on all my products. I have it in my mind that I’d like to be able to add, delete, and edit tabs from any number of listings at one time from my admin page using my categories to control which products are affected by any single change.
Do any or all of your products have the ability to do something along these lines?01/03/2015 at 17:49Keymaster
This plugin has not got mess functions to add, delete or edit tabs in batch mode, but the structure of category dependent tab types and the possibility to assign tab types to product categories enable you to define the appropriate settings at one time to a bunch of products (all products in the categories specified for the tab type). In this case you should specify set the default content (or content header or content footer) of tab types in “Product Tabs” menu. These content will be stored for the tab type ant not for the individual products, so if you modified or delete the content later, it will affect all products in the assigned categories. This method is useful when you would like the set the same content for a tab for all of the products in the defined product categories.
If you would like to set different contents for every single product, you can do this individually product by product, on the product edit page. These individual content can be changed individually, but if you delete the hole tab type, then the tabs will be disappears for all products.
You have the possibility to edit tab content individually for the products, in this case you can set different contents for every product. You can set it on the product edit page individually for each product.

Thanks for the response. I’m sorry, though; I’m not understanding how what you’re saying will help in my situation. I need to be able to add tabs to about 100 existing listings. The theme I’m using gives me the structure, but I still have to copy / paste the information into the tabs at each listing. That’s 3 tab titles plus 3 tab bodies, or approximately 600 mindless copy/paste operations in total.
Once those are done, I can daisy chain new listings from existing ones, and the tabs will already be populated, but then I face the problem of potentially needing to change some piece of data somewhere down the road one one or more of those tabs. As things stand right now, I’d need to go back and manually edit each one of those listings individually.
What I’m trying to understand is which of your versions will help make these jobs lighter? Is a simple text editor to do what I’m suggesting a possibility for a future version?01/03/2015 at 18:26
I will be setting the same content on the same tab in multiple listings. In fact, there will only be 3 different tab sets, so to speak, at least as things stand right now, and within those tab sets, only 1 tab will actually change. The other two tabs remain the same for all listings.01/03/2015 at 22:08Keymaster
I do not understand exactly what would you like, and what “listings” means, what kind of structure your theme gives you?
What does it mean, “which of your versions will help make these jobs lighter”? We have only one product for tab handling, so there is no option which help you more.
This plugin is a general purpose plugin, what displays information for products in tabs that you can type in and edit manually.
If you would like an automatic solution to handle specific data structure, then this plugin will not help you.
