I have been using WP Google Search successfully for over a year now. I keep WP and all plugins up to date.

Sometime in the past few months, the search has started doing weird things. Sometimes it works, sometimes
I get a result screen with ads but no results. Sometimes I just get a blank result screen. Sometimes I
get ads with the following at the bottom of the result screen: Unauthorized access to internal API. Please refer to https://support.google.com/customsearch/answer/4542055

I cannot determine if the browser matters, or the OS, or the protocol (http vs https). It appears to work
sometimes everywhere and fail other times everywhere. I can’t find a pattern.

You can try it yourself at: http://sf.splashamgs.com . The search is in the right column near the top.

All help appreciated! This is a great plug-in and we depend on it.

    Hi Steve!

Sorry for the late answer, I missed your previous post.

I can see your site, and I cannot see any problem.
I tried some search on your Google Custom Search, and I always get appropriate results. I tried it with Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, and everything was right.

Here are some solution to the problem that you mentioned above:
    https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/customsearch/pJl44MeAs4Q;context-place=forum/customsearch

According to the forum posts, try to switch off any solution that you use for load scripts faster, or try to use another search engine.

We are going to do some improvements in the next version, to use API v2 instead of API v1.
