I have added the WP Google Search box to my sidebar but for some reason it is also appearing (twice) above my top Menu. How can I stop it appearing above the Menu? Just hiding it is not an option.

I just discovered that one of the 2 search boxes above the Menu was being caused by the “Header and Footer” plugin, which I have now deactivated. I tested all my other plugins but the Search box still appears above my Menu.

The problem is not solved! I said that removing the “Header and Footer” plugin from my site did succeed in removing ONE of the two Google Search boxes that were appearing above my Menu but the second Google Search box is still there. I tested all my other plugins and none of them is causing the problem, so ther must be another reason. I gave you my site URL – you would have seen the Search box is still appearing above my Menu if you had checked. However, I’ve done a screenshot which is attached to this message. So, how to remove that top Search box, please?

    Hi,

Thanks, I understand now that you wrote, but I can not see any search box above your menu on your site. I can see ot only on the attached screenshot.
I can see only one search box on the sidebar of your site, that seems right. As I remember, I saw the same at the last time.
So I do not understand under what circumstances does the problem occur?

How do you add the searchbox to your site? Do you use a widget or a shortcode, and exactly where the widget or shortcode inserted in your site?

Hello, Peter – the search bar was still showing above the Menu when I took that screenshot but I decided to start over by removing the Google Search plugin and re-inserting it. It now no longer appears above the Menu. I can’t explain it, I’m just pleased that it is now gone. Thank you for your time and trouble! Best regards, Barry.
